World Billiards were delighted to learn that our reigning World Champion and World number one Peter Gilchrist was crowned Sportsman of the Year for the second time at the Singapore Sports Awards this week.
Gilchrist lifted his fourth WPBSA World Championship title in Melbourne last year after reaching his third consecutive long format final. He followed this with another strong performance in the SEA Games, where he took home the gold medal in the English Billiards singles for the sixth time.
Middlesbrough-born Gilchrist, 52, became a Singapore citizen in 2006 and was first crowned Sportsman of the Year in 2014.
