Champion Causier at Landywood
David Causier defeated Robert Hall 427-413 to win the 2026 World Billiards English Open at the Landywood Snooker Club in Walsall, England.
The reigning world champion successfully won through a field of 60 cueists to defend his English Open title in Staffordshire. The Level 3 ranking event was once again staged at the Landywood Snooker Club as a precursor to the World Billiards Championship and it was Causier who secured the title for a fourth consecutive year.

Victories over Ireland’s Wayne Doyle (893-198), last year’s world finalist Dhruv Sitwala (1,069-161) and India’s Rupesh Shah (693-196) then earned Causier another final place.
Awaiting him was Hall, who had reached the English Open final for the second year in a row by last defeating former world champion Pankaj Advani (1,024-169) in the semi-finals.
The two Englishmen were meeting in a repeat of the 2024 World Championship final at the same venue and it was a close contestwith Hall compiling two century breaks, both of 116, in the 90-minute match.
Ultimately, however, a top break of of 123 was enough to help Causier earn victory by a winning margin of just 14 points to win the title and make the perfect start to the Landywood Snooker Club double-header.
