Northern Billiards Open – 15-16th August ’26

The 2026–27 World Billiards season is almost here, and once again it will begin with the Northern Billiards Open, a Level 3 World Ranking Event, at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds on 15–16 August 2026.

One of the most popular events on the World Billiards calendar, the tournament takes place immediately after the Home Internationals Championships, which are also being held at the Northern Snooker Centre.

Previously known as the Jim Williamson Open, the event has been renamed the Northern Billiards Open for the 2026–27 season. World Billiards remains committed to recognising Jim Williamson’s legacy and looks forward to announcing another way of honouring his contribution to the sport in the near future.

World Billiards has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the Northern Snooker Centre, and we are grateful for the venue’s continued support in hosting this event.

A Challenge Cup will also be held on the Sunday for players who do not qualify for the knockout stages of the main tournament, ensuring all competitors have the opportunity for additional match play.

To encourage junior participation, we are offering a reduced entry fee of £20 for players under the age of 18. All players are encouraged to enter promptly to secure their place, given the popularity of this event.
