(David Causier and Dhruv Sitwala contested the final of the 2024 Austrian Open)
Austrian Open and European Open – 30th May-3rd June ’26
The National Billiards and Snooker Academy in Vienna will host a WBL double-header for the first time, with events taking place at the end of May. The schedule will feature the Austrian Open (a Level 3 World Ranking event), followed by the Level 5 European Open.
The 100-up format with Matchplay rules will be used in the European Open, with the overall length of matches determined by the number of entries. The Austrian Open will be played under the timed format.
Austria’s National Training Academy offers superb playing conditions, featuring eight tables, and regularly hosts major championships, including a WPBSA Q Tour event this season. We are grateful to the ÖSBV (Austrian Snooker and Billiards Association) for their support in making these events possible.
WBL is proud to continue strengthening its presence in mainland Europe, helping to promote the sport internationally, with Vienna alongside Bruges, Belgium as a key tournament location.
