(Dhruv Sitwala is the reigning champion of both the Auckland Open and New Zealand Open)
Barton McGill Auckland Open and Body Corporate Administration New Zealand Open – 10-14th September ’25
We are pleased to confirm that two events with WBL ranking points will be held in New Zealand this September 2025, in partnership with the New Zealand Billiards and Snooker Association, at the Papatoetoe Cosmopolitan Club (PCC) in Auckland.
The Barton McGill Auckland Open, a level 1 World Ranking Event with a prize pool of $2300, will be held from 10-11 September. This will be followed immediately by the Body Corporate Administration New Zealand Open from 12-14 September, with a prize pool of $4500.
We are grateful to Wayne Carey, the NZBSA, and the Papatoetoe Club for their support and assistance in making these events possible. They look forward to extending a warm welcome to all local and international players.
The Sydney Open takes place shortly before these events (5-7 September), providing three events in close proximity for travelling players.
“Father Christmas’s 10 by 10”. This represents a prize for the ‘ten shot’ in Billiards. A 10-point shot – times $10 per point = $100. Paid to the first person to get such in any of the two NZ Tournaments. (Donated by Gaynor & Wayne Carey).

Wayne Carey says: “last year we all went to an underground aquarium where fish swim over the top of you – Sharks, Sting rays etc. Plus the Sky Tower, North Shore beaches, over the Auckland Harbour Bridge…and this year we have already had a request from one of the Sydney players to go Bungee Jumping (Sky Tower or the Auckland Harbour Bridge)! Any other requests?”
