Peter Gilchrist’s journey from Sinagpore was worthwhile as he lifted the Welsh Open in Cwmbran. He continued his fine vein of form by beating Martin Goodwill 863 – 190, including breaks of 200 and 257. In the quarter final he hit the high break of the competition of 499.
We were very grateful to have excellent hosts at Redz Snooker Club in Cwmbran who did a wonderful job hosting their first WBL event and ensuring all the tables were up to the required standard. They even provided a Hog Roast for lunch on the Saturday. Phoenix Hire and Sales kindly donated some air con units for the club, this was greatly received by the players in what was a very hot weekend.
