Champion: Peter Gilchrist
Runner Up: Rob Hall
The 2014 Northern Snooker Centre Open took place over the weekend with Peter Gilchrist defeating Rob Hall in the final. Peter had breaks of 120, 152, 200 & 304 unfinished (the highest of the event) in the final, which he won 728 – 164. The two semi finalists were both from Ireland, with Wayne Doyle and John Kehoe eventually losing out to Gilchrist and Hall respectively.
The Plate Flyer was won by Adam Clarke (who during the Home Internationals on Friday had beaten his highest match break twice in the same match) narrowly defeating Steve Tuck 125 – 108 in the final.
Our thanks must go to the Home International Billiards & Snooker Federation and particularly Eugene O’Connor and his team for officiating this event. Thanks also to the Northern Snooker Centre for hosting and sponsoring the tournament and for providing the first class facilities we have become accustomed to at the club.
