Mick started to play billiards in the nineties with his dad because nobody was giving him a game at the local Con Club and most of his billiard mates had passed on!  For sometime he was just the ballboy as dad used to flog the red . . so he had to either improve or get thinner!

When Mick’s dad died on New Years Eve 1999 at the age of 87, he continued to play on his own until he discovered the Southampton & District Billiard League and after a trial match was asked to join a team which he still plays for, travelling up from his home town, Poole in Dorset once a week in the season.

Mick has been in the printing industry (51 years) since the age of 16 . . went self-employed and started a typesetting business 1974 . . he still does print . . he emigrated to Australia in 1986 with wife and five boys … built a house on a beach, established a typesetting business had a baby girl (so it really is upside down there) and returned with 6 children in 1990.

Mick is determined to improve and his first goal is to make a 100 break in competition . . 78 and 116 so far in practice . . recently he joined the EABA and EBSS and he enjoys playing at the southern events.
