Having been a keen snooker player since his teenage days (mainly above Burtons’ shops!) his late father’s adage of ‘you’ll never be a good snooker player unless you’ve mastered the “angles” and “feel” of billiards’ finally convinced him to take up competitive billiards in 2008 (as his snooker was rapidly waning!)

Classifying himself as an enthusiastic and keen billiards player (20 year apprenticeship?), Lindsay plays in the Carlisle & District Billiards League (high break of 49). In 2013 he was a spectator in Leeds at the World Billiards Championships and also attended his inaugural Scottish Snooker Billiards event; well beaten but not daunted, he learned from both watching and playing experiences and hopes to attend future Scottish Snooker events on a regular basis.

Lindsay runs the Dumfries & Galloway Seniors Snooker Association. He became a member of the Scottish Billiards and Snooker Referees Association in 2013, class 3 snooker, and hopes to attain the equivalent billiards qualification soon.
