Keith McCready

Keith is 34, lives in Bangor, Northern Ireland with his  4 children, 3 boys & 1 girl. He works in his local Spar garage in Bangor.
He started playing billiards & snooker over 25 years ago at the young age of 9,  although he did not play competitively between 2002 and 2012 due to family commitments. He plays in the Reading Rooms in Bangor. There are 4 tables in this private members club and it has been used each year to host international competitions between Northern Ireland , England & Republic of Ireland. The club is one of the most famous  in Northern Ireland and various Northern Irish & all Ireland champions have played there including Jack Bates, William (Billy) Hanna, Billy Loughran, Ching Chambers & Dessie Anderson.

Keith first represented northern Ireland as a junior playing against England represented by Matthew Sutton, Jimmy Chambers, Dean Bavister & Martin Shutt in the friendly cup years ago.
Keith also got his first call up to the senior team last year against the Republic of Ireland and played very well, winning all 6 matches. Earlier this year (2013) he played against England and again won all matches.

He is just back from Vienna where he took part in the four nations billiards tournament between England, Austria, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland and had a very successful tournament with some good victories and breaks on very challenging tables.

Keith uses a Riley Burwatt Champion cue with a 9 mm talisman hard tip.
Highest match break 92 in the northern Ireland championships 2013.
Highest practise break is 187.
Keith has not won any major tournaments as yet but feels it’s only a matter of time.
