Geet Sethi

Geet has won 5 world professional billiards titles and 3 IBSF world billiards titles. He has also won the 2006 IBSF World Team Masters Snooker Championship.

He holds the highest modern day billiards break in a world championship – 1276 made against Bob Close in the quarter finals of the 1992 world professional billiards championship. His highest break in practise is 1617.


Geet is the only Indian and the first amateur in the world to have made a maximum 147 in National level competition and according to Joe Minichi (Australia) (please confirm) is the only player – living or dead to have constructed a 147 in snooker and a 1000 in billiards in recognised/official national/world championships.

Geet has authored a book – Success versus Joy and has also founded a not for profit organisation – Olympic Gold Quest – which supports India’s top athletes who have a chance to win medals for India in the Olympics.

He has been honoured by the President of India with India’s highest sporting award – Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in addition to the Arjuna and Padmashri awards.

Geet lives in Ahmedabad, India with wife Kiran, daughter Jazz and son Raag.
