For the Ron Agnew trophy

The 2018 White Roofing English Open took place at Cambridge Snooker Centre on Saturday & Sunday 28th & 29th April.

Rob Hall won his first English Open title at the weekend and became the first person to defeat Peter Gilchrist in 2018 when he overcame him 614-378 in the final, ending Peter’s run of four consecutive titles and 36 matches undefeated this year. Gilchrist managed just one century break in the final whilst Hall scored relentlessly with breaks of 157, 138 and 178.
In the semi final Hall was imperious in a 942-104 demolition of Phil Mumford, making breaks of 234, 217 and the highest of the tournament, 480.
It was a similar story in the other semi final as Gilchrist fired in breaks of 239 and 380 in a comprehensive 791-175 victory over first time semi finalist Nathan Mann.
